THE PATHWARDERS

History: Following the War of the False Prophet, the wilderness around Skara Brae caused for the formation of the Pathwarders. During the time of their creation, the Pathwarders helped to keep the peace around the roads and the forests of the land, and were highly regarded by the rangers for their help.

Spiritwood, a dark forest close by to the south, had always harbored strange secrets. But as more and more rumors of a dark power there began to circulate, the Pathwarders began to view the area with suspicion, exploring the edges of the dark woods. Slowly, one by one, their members began to disappear, and at the request of Shamino, their hall was sealed, to wait for when a new time would come, and they would be active again.

Nearly two hundred years later, a ranger, Ganthis, along with three of his trusted companions refounded the Pathwarders once more. Slowly, their numbers grew, and the newly formed group returned to its old duties of protecting the lands. Though, it was only a handful of years after their rebirth when Spiritwood began to grow with its dark power once more. A creature known only as Silas emerged from the wood with a -single- desire: To eradicate all civilization from Britannia, returning the world from humanity in the name of nature. During their struggles, it was clear that Silas harbored great anger towards the Pathwarders, often focusing attacks on their hall. It was following a great battle within the center of Spiritwood, led by the druid Jaana, that Silas was defeated, and was long thought to be banished. During this ritual, though, Ganthis finally understood the reasons for Silas' hatred, discovering that the creature had possessed his very father, Thailin Kal'Luura.

Much time passed before they recovered from the shock of what Spiritwood had held for them, and even with the loss of some of their number, the Pathwarders remain active even to this day, helping to keep the roads safe from both new and old enemies, and ever watchful for the return of Silas once more.

Pathwarder's Guide

By: Ganthis Kal'Luura
Former Lord of the Path

The Order of the Path

All Pathwarders live by the Primary Virtues namely: Honor, Honesty, and Justice. While we support all of the virtues, we believe that these three are the embodiment of all others. Because of this belief we are a guild of Order.

A Pathwarder is first loyal to the Primary virtues, second to the people of Britannia.

Our Purpose

While the purpose of the Pathwarder is to protect the primary virtues and the citizens of Britannia, we do so distinctly by maintaining the roads, keeping the citizenry aware of new dangers in the wilds, and protecting those who need protection.

Indeed, it could be said that we are the unofficial protectors of the people. We will stand for those who need aid, not fearing the cost to ourselves.

Joining the guild:

Each person who wish to enter the guild is allowed and will be named a Candidate. The candidate first needs to find a member who will agree to be his Guide and will talk of him before The Guildmaster.
That member can refuse to become a Guide but must report of The person until a guide is found.
The Guide become responsible for The Candidate, he must prepare him as best as he can for The test.

The Test:
In order to become a full member each Candidate must pass The Test.
The test is supervised by at least two full members.
The members are not allowed to interfere in any phase of The Test only if The Candidate is near Death.
The Test must check The Candidate ability in The following skills:
Walking unseen and without a sound.
Tracking a person or a creature.
A good aim and use with The bow.

There is no only one way to make The test.
It can be divided to phases that each phase check only one ability.
Or it can be only one test for example: The Candidate will need to track a chosen monster, enter its cave unseen and then defeat it with his/her bow.

After The Candidate pass The test he or she will brought to The Pathwarders yard where there The Candidate will swear an oath to The Pathwarders and to Britannia.

The Pathwarders Oath:
In The name of Honor, Honesty, and Justice, do I stand for Britannia.
