ON THE CREATION OF WANDS

Being a listing of that information available that pertains to the empowerment of Magical Wands by mages within the land of Britannia.

Wand Creation Requirements

In order to enchant a wand, a craftsman is required to have at least 70.0 skill at magery. Lesser mages simply lack the skill to handle enchantments of this complexity.

The mage must also have a suitable blank wand. These may be obtained from a single vendor in Britannia, noted for magical work with gems.

In addition to the blank wand, the mage requires quantities of reagents, enough for numerous castings of the spell to be embued into the wand.

Gemstones are also required, being used in the enchantment process.

And finally the mage needs access to an appropriate Cauldron, enchanted specifically for use in the process of enchanting wands. Such may be found in public places, as the enchantments to craft such a cauldron require the cooperation of many mages, and the results thereof are hence placed in neutral places for all to benefit.

[Note: These cauldrons are not available as decoration for player buildings.]

The Enchantment Process

To make a wand, the cauldron must first be filled with water, from a waterskin.

Next, appropriate gemstones must be ground to powder, and added to the water.

Following this, the reagents for the spell must be added.

Finally the mage must actually cast the enchantment desired into the cauldron, which contains the wand.

This process is prone to error, and known to cause difficulty to mages of even the greatest skill.

Known results of failure include petrification, transformation, and explosion. You have been warned.
