The
attacks need to remain inside of the general server rules, and need
to be roleplayed in character with other players. The use of the
help room feature by either the victim or the brigand is considered
OOC, and is unacceptable. It is also considered OOC to make use
of IRC, ICQ, or other methods out of game to call for reinforcements.

The
basic outline for a brigand type of character is of course secrecy
above all else. A disguise and mask are required, to prevent IC
retaliations, and it's important you maintain it. Unless the brigand
removes the disguise and mask, their identity will not be known
IC by the victim. The use of the paperdoll or Allnames for this
is considered OOC. Further details are below regarding identification
*updated*
If
it comes to PvP between the two characters, it needs to remain roleplayed,
and the rules about player corpses and looting remain in effect.
Only gold, gems, and non unique jewelry (ie: non dyed or named specifically)
are deemed "lootable" in this situation. The same rules apply for
human and nonhuman PC characters. A PC goblin or orc would also
IC remove any food and drink from their victims *updated* If the
victim is defeated (knocked unconscious), it should be arranged
by both players to either have the brigand ressurect them, or go
with them to a healer/shrine with the rest of their belongings OOC,
and allow the brigand to escape while the victim "recovers" IC from
the attack. The brigand also has the choice to attempt to "capture"
the victim for ransom, which would entail the loss of one RL day
(a longer time would require the agreement of both players) until
the ransom was either paid, or the time elapsed. If during the fight,
the brigand's health dropped to 25% or lower at -any- time, their
capture attempt would be unsuccessful, and the victim would escape
IC. *updated*
If
the brigand is forced to surrender or is defeated (knocked unconscious),
it should also be arranged by both players to have the brigand ressurected
OOC by the victim or at a healer/shrine, minus their gold, gems,
and non unique jewelry. The victim then has the chance to either
escape IC while the brigand "recovers", or they may attempt to capture
the brigand. To make the balance fair, if the victim was wounded
to 25% or less of their health by the brigand during their fight,
the brigand will escape capture due to the victim's "wounds". The
victim can attempt to capture or just identify the brigand. If during
the fight, the victim's heath dropped to 25% or lower at -any- time,
they would be unable to capture or identify the brigand, allowing
their escape. If the brigand was succesfully captured, their physical
description would be known, and any identifying items (like Gargish
jewelry, ankh amulets, etc) that the person was wearing at the time
would be compared to previous "raids" by other victims during their
trial. IC knowledge of the items would depend on them being displayed
on the paperdoll by the brigand at the time of the attack. *updated*
Unless
mutually agreed by the victim and the brigand, there will be no
permanent killing of either character. Emoting *plunges his sword
into the brigand's neck, severing his head* won't kill that character,
sorry. As long as -both- players agree to the concession (in game,
IRC, ICQ, or other methods), it would be allowable to loot a specific
item, permakill one or both of the characters, perform instant capture
regardless of the 25% health rule, and other in character storyline
changes. The arrangement must be mutually agreed by both players,
otherwise, the normal server rules about IC PvP, player looting,
and permakilling will apply. *updated*
These
guidelines are still under review, and are subject to change by
the staff as deemed necessary.
