General Charts

The Detailed Charts need the user to possess a sextant to be of use, so that they can locate their position in the world. With the sextant, if the user of the chart is on the Britannia map, then the chart opens up as a regional map, centered on the player's current location. If he moves and opens the map at the new location, it will open centered on that point.

Detailed Charts

Like the General Charts, the Detailed Charts need the user to possess a sextant to be of use. Given that, if the user of the chart is on the Britannia map, then the chart opens up as a detail map, centered on the player's current location. If he moves and opens the map at the new location, it will open centered on that point.

Master Chart

The Master Chart is a gump-based map of Britannia that functions much like the cloth maps in the later games of the Ultima series. When used the player sees a map of Britannia. If the player is actually in the Britannia map region and is in possession of a sextant then the map is also marked with the player's current location.

Treasure Maps

Cartography is also used to decipher the treasure maps found on some monsters. In order to use the map you need to have the Cartography skill to decipher it, and the Mining skill to dig it up.

If you have any information about the required skills, please post it to the board.
