COOKING

Being the skills and resources needed to practice the Art of the Chef, beloved of hungry stomachs everywhere in Britannia.

For the most part, the information here has been archived and deduced by Maki, who originally designed the cooking system concept for the staff.

Further additions come from Rivan and other players in Legacy who have taken the time to work out the system.

Her site is being updated as she works on figuring out the system. The page she has constructed for it is here. It is probably more up to date at any given time than this page, which is blatantly cribbing from Maki's one with her permission. *grins*

Nitpicks and feature requests

Components

Baking Simple Fare Beverages

Specialties

One of the many things that sets Legacy apart from other player-run servers is the fact that we're trying our best to re-create the immersive world of the series. And until last year we were stuck with Sphere's horrid default cooking scripts, but now thanks to a -lot- of GM help the idea of a cooking system for UL I had is finally live on the server! *beams* --Maki

Currently Known Bugs (as of June 2005)

It's fairly done now but a few quirks pop up now and again. And the nitpicking list is waaay longer now *chuckle*

    Known quirks/bugs
  • Hot/Savoury spices and garlic don't work on mixed vegetables
  • Drying corn consumes the bowl
  • Corn porridge, oat porridge, stuffing and herbs don't give you a bowl back

Random Notes

  • Visit the Skara Farmer's Market for the new fruits & veggies :)

  • Choclatl, ginger, mild/sweet/hot peppers, coffee and tea can all be obtained from the transplanted Eodonian tribes living on an isle west of Serpent's Hold (not the one with the beach; Temple Isle from OSI, one of the T2A portals). Bring lots of emeralds; Allera doesn't barter for shiny coins.. ^^

  • Silverleaf is available to be harvested from a grove in the Deep Forest north by northeast of the moongate. Just equip a hatchet (plain not other metals) and d-click the leaves. Not sure on the IC legality of it, however - it was outlawed during Ultima 7.
