Being
the rules for secrecy binding both the Staff and Player Representatives.
The
following is the text of the agreeement the player reps consented
to.
"Once you have accessed the “restricted area”, we reserve the right
for any disciplinary action, including banning from the server,
for a violation of secrecy of restricted information. Restricted
information is information that, if given to the public at large
or to the wrong individuals, would jeopardize the security of the
server, or significantly hinder the ability of a player or players
to enjoy the game. Examples of restricted information include: usernames
or passwords, secret player-character identities, secret GM identities,
information that endangers the security of the server software and/or
the account information, or any plot/quest/historical information
used for personal gain (or gain of friends). You are forbidden from
giving other players any information that would jeopardize the security
of the restricted forums, including your own password or username,
or the location of the boards. Finally, any abuse of your access
to secret information for in-game or OOC gain, for yourself or for
your personal friends, is forbidden. Any kind of favoritism in distributing
information will not be tolerated.
If you have any questions on some information, please ask.
This restriction applies even after your term as respresentative
has passed. You will ALWAYS be held to keep the secrets of this
nature you learn while at increased access.
These are the same rules of secrecy that apply to Gms. There are
no double standards. I know it sounds severe, but we have had some
problems in the distant past we're not eager to repeat. We don't
anticipate any problems today, or with any of you, but if there
are any, you've been warned."
I welcome any questions regarding this policy if you have any. As
I said, this is the secrecy policy that governs GMs and now the
player reps, and it is entirely to protect the integrity of the
server and the privacy of plaff and non-staff. (ntaff?)
